Our Commitment
DCJD is committed to ensuring that our work does not cause harm to the individuals
and communities we serve. We recognize that documentation work, while essential for
accountability, can carry risks that must be carefully managed.
Do No Harm Principles
All DCJD activities are guided by the following principles:
- Safety First: The physical and psychological safety of survivors, witnesses, and communities takes priority over documentation needs.
- Informed Consent: We ensure that individuals understand how their information will be used before collecting it.
- Confidentiality: Personal information is protected and shared only with explicit consent and on a need-to-know basis.

- Trauma-Informed Approach: Our methods are sensitive to the trauma experienced by affected individuals.
